Giving Back: How Entrepreneurs Can Create Lasting Impact

In the latest episode of Profitability Playbook: The Simple Numbers Podcast, hosts Mike Maxson and Brandon Gray welcomed back Justin Allred, an entrepreneur, investor, and community advocate, to discuss a topic that goes beyond numbers: giving back.

For many business owners, profitability is the ultimate goal. But as Justin reminds us, success is measured in impact, not just dollars. Entrepreneurs have a unique platform to influence lives, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for growth.

Why Giving Back Matters

Justin’s passion for service started early, volunteering for Special Olympics and local initiatives in high school. Today, that same spirit drives his approach to leadership and community involvement. “My companies aren’t successful without the people who are here with me,” he says. “You’ve got to give back to receive what God’s got in store for you.”

Giving back isn’t just about writing checks, it’s about creating experiences, fostering development, and building relationships that last.

Investing in Your Team

Many companies focus on year-end bonuses, but Justin takes a different approach. Through the Pearson Allred Leadership Conference, his team enjoys immersive experiences such as leadership workshops, keynote speakers like Tim Grover, and even NASCAR driving at Daytona. These events, while they are perks, are also opportunities for personal growth, conflict resolution, and team bonding.

This results in a culture of respect and loyalty. “I see a group of 125 people who would probably take a bullet for me,” Justin shares. “Respect is earned, not demanded.”

Impacting the Next Generation

Justin’s commitment extends beyond his business. From funding Brooks High School’s robotics program to building a new press box for the football field, his contributions combine financial support with skill-building. Rather than just receiving funding, students learn budgeting, negotiation, and leadership.

He also launched the Gridiron Conference, bringing hundreds of athletes together to hear inspiring messages about mindset and character development. Speakers like KT Hill, who overcame life-changing adversity, deliver lessons that resonate far beyond the field.

Where to Start

For entrepreneurs wondering how to begin, Justin offers simple advice:

·      Follow your passion. Start with what matters most to you.

·      Give time, not just money. Volunteer days and mentorship can be just as impactful.

·      Prepare for challenges. “It’s not always easy... If you’ve got that fire burning, go for it,” Justin says.

Final Thoughts

Giving back can change companies. It strengthens teams, builds trust, and creates a sense of purpose that fuels long-term success. Brandon challenges listeners: “Do something beyond the Christmas bonus. Do something that helps people become better.”
